Nestled to the south of the city if the Dragon and near the border of mountainous Anhui is the beautiful Tianmu Lake and its even more picturesque rolling farmland and green villages. You can get on your bike and sail across the smooth rolling hills, forests, fields, and farms of this rural wonder. We will arrive late and start early as we get a full day of great riding in this area that is about 3 hours outside of Shanghai, but worlds away.?
This is a paradise for those who want a nice long cruise.?We will cover a lot of ground, but except for a few short excursions on footpaths through the tea, we will ride exclusively on single lane roads that wind through the villages dotting the valley.?Some highlights include the reservoirs near the end of the ride, where we can take a breather and snap some memories.

Biking at Xicen
As one of the nicest areas closest to Shanghai, this A to B ride starts with a winding road passing the small farming communities and canals of this sprawling area of green and cultivation. After dipping in and out of a few towns we take to several long grass tree lined levees that coast along the large canals that provide a transportation network for Shanghai. After tuning off we coast through a local rural park before passing through temple door and back into the wilderness leading to the bridge to know where. We will stop for a drink and than hit the road as we cruise the long beautiful and tree lined road that quietly follows the canal to the sound of chugging barges as they joust on the seas of destiny!!!

Hiking at Ancient and Beautiful Town of Dali
The ride starts with a cruise on a cement country road through the local villages and farms in search of gorgeous scenery and more importantly a little know back entrance to the local reserve! After several kms we will head off road and into the ocean…or at least what use to be before the local gov. start a large land reclamation project. We hit the dirt path circling back around in the tree lined park where we will hit the small mountain with a climb of around 300m to where we will have lunch in front of the mountain top temple over looking the lake below! After lunch it is down the mountain on a fun and fast cruise where we will circle the lake before trekking back into the surrounding villages and calling it a day!! The trip is around 1.5 hours from Shanghai.

Biking at East Mountain
Join us for some on and off road biking in the mountains and through the surrounding villages and farms?for 3 - 4 hours. We begin with a warm-up along the lakeside villages with a leisurely photo opportunity at a local temple. Then, when you least expect it, we veer from the main road and that’s where the torturous pleasure of riding uphill begins!

We climb on a rocky fire access road from the peaceful valley to the summit 300m above the lake. A short walk from the road to the temple on top of the mountain rewards your persistence with the finest views of Lake TaiHu anywhere. The descent is fast and fun and lands us back where we began. This ride is geared towards more advanced riders that are looking for a spectacular ride and a good workout!

Biking at Sheshan
We will drive for about 30min to the nearby and historic Sheshan Mountain…a local set of small mountains with one of them topped with a turn of the century Church and observatory! ?

The ride starts with a cruise around the base of Mount Sheshan. We will pass villas, communities and a taste of what this area is looking to become before working are way to the north with the Church hanging in the back ground as we enter some of the small villages, cement roads and small off road tracks that connect this green area. The ride passes fields of vegetables, small canals and constructed rural huts that show a stark contrast from the villas but a couple kms away. The ride finished with a cruise past the new metro line and back towards the mountain where groups will have the option to enter into the Sheshan park and see the Church (30rmb entrance fee)!!
